Shoreline Library

So last night, Michelle and I walked to the library to get cd's for her to upload to her mp3 player. I was annoying her (as usual) so she told me to go read a book. I was actually able to finish this one while we were there and it was really cute. She also checked out the one I didn't get to finish reading and I'm reading it at their house now, it's the Chocolate Cake Sutra, interesting so far.

I forgot how much I like libraries, they are so cool. Reminds me of my dream to own a bookshop, new and used with a cafe' in the corner. Maybe with jazz nights, like the one in Dupont Circle in Washington DC, that was a cool bookstore.

A Real Friend

Got this in my e-mail this morning and had to chuckle because it's so very true about your real friends.

A REAL FRIEND
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your 'Pepsi drawer' with her foot!

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend shoulder is soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after they’ve gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it!

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

recipes

Yippee, I'm finally getting my butt in gear with this blog thing. I've been wanting to put up recipes from the family and my recipe box but have been fiddling around instead of just doing it! So officially today I'm going to start, these are not low calorie, good for you recipes for the most part; most are just things I've had forever.

Marching in like a lion? or mongoose? maybe a kangaroo with a.d.d?

Saturday night, Michelle and I went dancing; we had a great time and when we got home at about 2:30am it was a balmy 40° and a bit breezy. Imagine what came out of my mouth (something along the lines of "oh shit it snowed") when I got up about 6 hours later and looked outside. We had these giant palm sized snowflakes falling, it was really cool.

At some point these will bloom and be daffodils, not today.

Finally, I just sat and watched it snow for awhile, this should end soon, supposedly spring is coming.
Later in the afternoon the wind kicked up and the power went out; we sat in the living room looking out this window and watched it snow, rain, hail, blow and sunshine all in the space of half an hour. What a wild, wacky weather day!
